In November 2020 we launched a Black Sex Worker Emergency Survival Fund giving out small grants to community members impacted by COVID-19. The fund stems from the success of our collaborative COVID-19 Sex Worker Emergency Support Fund with Butterfly launched in April 2020 that raised more than $170,000 for community. As Ontario heads into a second provincial lockdown and reports record case numbers, the need for direct supports is more dire than ever. As part of our organizational efforts to be accountable to Black sex workers and build lasting community supports, our Black Sex Worker Emergency Survival Fund provides $150 grants to providers impacted by the pandemic. To date we've raised $68,000 for community members across Toronto and the GTA. Donate online and get in touch with us at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions!
