Our Funding History

Maggie's Toronto first received funding in 1988 for our outreach program
The Prostitutes Safe Sex Project run by Danny Cockerline serving gay male sex workers in Toronto's downtown east end. This program and Danny's vision for sex worker advocacy, harm reduction, outreach and education influences the programming and supports we provide today. We believe that sex workers are leaders in public health and continue to run street outreach, expanding into indoor venues and other spaces sex workers access.

Our Current Funding (2022)

We receive funding from local, provincial and federal levels of government through Women and Gender Equality Canada, the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and the Public Health Agency of Canada as well as local foundations, funding bodies and partners including United Way, The Law Foundation of Ontario, Second Harvest and ACORN Canada.

We're deeply grateful to receive a wide-range of contributions from individual donors, community partners and issue-based campaigns invested in the movement for sex worker justice!
