Maggie's Toronto

Maggie's is an organization run for and by sex workers. Our mission is to assist sex workers in our efforts to live and work with safety and dignity. We are founded on the belief that in order to improve our circumstances, sex workers must control our own lives and destinies.

Maggie's advocates that we should all have the right to choose or reject sex work, just as we have the right to choose or reject any other kind of work.

Indigenous Program

Maggie's Indigenous Sex Work Drop-in has been running for 10+ years bringing space for Indigenous past and present sex workers to gather and engage in community-lead programming.

The Indigenous drop in runs the first and third Friday of every month from 3:00 pm  to 5:30 pm

The programs entail culturally specific workshops, ceremonies, teachings, drumming, and Indigenous arts and crafts.

It offers informal counselling and an Elder available for  one-on-one counselling. We work from a harm reduction approach which allows participants to access help at their own discretion.

The program also has an outreach component with three outreach workers out on the streets in the GTA distributing harm reduction supplies and Indigenous specific resources to the communities we serve and making sure people within the Indigenous communities are aware of the services offered at Maggie's.

Monica Forrester, Program Manager, works Tuesday - Friday 10- 4pm in the office.

She can be contacted at indigenouscoordinator@maggiesto.org or (416) 964-0150
